Pratt portrayed the character for two sequels and a holiday special.“I wanted that one,” Brody said, admitting that he agrees that Pratt was a “better” fit for the space adventurer.He added, “But tonally, I really dug it.”Brody and Pratt were brief co-stars on “The O.C.” when the latter played the activist Ché Cook, aka Winchester Cook, in the teen drama’s fourth season.According to the Hollywood Reporter, over 200 actors auditioned for the part, including Brody’s “Shazam!” co-star Zachary Levi and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Glenn Howerton, who was ultimately Gunn’s second choice.

Though the news was announced on Thursday, Amazon says the greenlight was made official internally before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA went on strike, and that no work on Season 3 will begin until labor negotiations between the guilds and the studios have been resolved. According to Amazon, Season 2 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is one of the 10 most-watched seasons of any series ever on Amazon Prime Video, with its July 14 premiere more than doubling viewership of Season 1 within three days of launch.

Variety understands that the union, which has 50,000 members, has agreed a basic position with its U.S. counterpart. These rules will apply to U.K. productions, and the two groups are in the process of hammering out the finer details. Equity is asking members to check its website for the specific advice around 8 p.m. U.K. time on Thursday, which coincides with a SAG-AFTRA press conference in Los Angeles at noon Pacific time that will officially announce the actors strike.

The company’s most robust signs of growth appear to be from its international streaming division, which has penetrated more than 45 markets to date, spanning Western Europe, Australia, South America and Canada. Currently, 85 local originals have been earmarked for the platform (some are already on the service, while others are in production or recently greenlit) — and those commissions aren’t going anywhere, according to top brass.

The Korean screenwriter, who is also known as Kim Ho Yeol, is the creator and co-writer of the webtoon “D.P.” which was adapted into the Netflix military drama. The show, which premiered in 2021, earned multiple awards in various categories at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2022, establishing it as one of the top Korean dramas of the year. “D.P.” returns later this month for Season 2. The series follows a team of Korean military police who are tasked with catching deserters. (Military service is mandatory for men between the ages of 18 and 35 in South Korea.)
