Ayr Central Shopping Centre, has been bought over. A £55m package has been agreed which sees Boohoo Group plc take on the Debenhams brand and other business assets.The takeover will come into effect upon the completion of Debenhams’ current stock liquidation programme, which continues online.However, all UK Debenhams stores will permanently close, so today's news is cold comfort to the 100 plus staff who worked at the Ayr store.The deal was struck by the administrators of Debenhams UK, FRP Advisory.A spokesperson said: “A thorough and robust process has been undertaken by the administrators to achieve the best outcome for Debenhams’ stakeholders.“This transaction will allow a new Debenhams-branded business to emerge under strong new.
