Asda has announced its plans to cut the price of 425 branded and own-label products in an attempt to ease the pressure of the cost of living crisis on customers.
The supermarket giant says it is investing £23m to lower prices by an average of 11 per cent on popular products such as nappies, bread, cheese, cereals, pasta, fish fingers, sausages, and chicken breasts.
It comes after Asda's own Income Tracker showed that family budgets remain under immense pressure despite eases to the CPI inflation rate seen last month.
Furthermore, data shows the average household's disposable income remains far lower than the start of the cost of living crisis by over £100 per month compared to July 2021.
