A suspect arrested on suspicion of arson after a horrific fire tore through a home has been released on bail, police have now confirmed.
The blaze broke out in a home on Lawton Road in Heaton Chapel just after 1:30am on Monday (May 13) with witnesses seeing smoke and fire billowing from the roof.
Evidence of a cannabis farm was later found at the house. Eight fire engines raced to the scene, with crews working through the night to tackle the flames.
