Arsenal are still keen on a move for Thomas Partey - but are open to the prospect of Danilo as an alternative. Partey has long been on Arsenal ’s radar but, with their transfer budget set to be limited this summer, they are reliant on Atletico Madrid softening their demands.
Porto midfielder Danilo recently launched a charm offensive towards the Gunners and manager Mikel Arteta. And Goal claim ‘informal discussions’ have taken place over the Portuguese player with Atletico resistant to proposals to include Matteo Guendouzi in a deal for Partey.
Partey has a €50 million (£44m) release clause which the Gunners have said they are unwilling to pay, although they have attempted to explore other avenues.
