Arsenal's new director of football operations Richard Garlick has been brought in to take care of two key jobs, according to the club.
Garlick, who was previously at West Brom for eight years, will take care of all football operations in the first team and academy, and handle all player contract management and relationships with football's governing bodies.
Garlick will reduce the workload on both technical director Edu, as well as Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, allowing the latter more time to work on improving performances on the pitch.
Arsenal announced the appointment on Thursday in a statement reading: "Richard Garlick is joining Arsenal as director of football operations.
