Armed cops lock down Scots street after early morning 'disturbance' in Buckie flat

A man has been arrested after armed police were called to reports of an early morning 'disturbance' at a flat in Buckie. Emergency services were called to the scene in the town’s Lawson Avenue with a cordon put in place at around 5.40am on Sunday.

A number of officers carrying guns were seen in the area by shocked residents who were reportedly told to 'stay away from their windows'.Police Scotland have confirmed that a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection.

Inspector Neil Morrison of Elgin Police Station said: “We were made aware of a man causing a disturbance at a property on Lawson Avenue in Buckie around 5.40am on Sunday, 23 January.“Officers, including a number of specialist resources, attended and a 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested.“Nobody was injured and the incident was contained to the single property.“The local community are thanked for their understanding as officers dealt with the incident.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
