justjared.comAriana Grande opened the Oscars by throwing it back to The Wizard of Oz and giving an incredible performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The 31-year-old actress wore a ruby red dress, just like Dorothy’s slippers, while performing on stage at the 2025 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The Wicked tribute ended up being an Oz tribute with Ari opening the performance with “Over the Rainbow,” Cynthia Erivo segueing into “Home” from The Wiz, and then the two of them finishing with “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.
