Japanese band Arashi edged out Taylor Swift for last year's best-selling album across the globe, according to the The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which represents the worldwide recorded music industry.
Arashi’s hits compilation 5x20 All the BEST!! 1999-2019, released in June, sold 3.3 million global units compared to 3.2 million for Swift’s Lover release, the IFPI reports."Arashi are an iconic Japanese band that have built a huge and very dedicated fanbase across Asia throughout their twenty-year music career," said Frances Moore, chief executive of IFPI.
