APPRENTICE star Akshay Thakrar has been revealed as the director of FIVE failed companies. Akshay is among contestants on the BBC show battling for a coveted role working alongside Sir Alan Sugar.

At 28, he owns his own digital marketing company called Sai Network and boasts of speaking seven languages. But a deeper look into his business portfolio brings up a trail of failed enterprises.

The Daily Mail found his first strike came when his attempt at setting up a record label didn't go to plan. As a student he created Vivid Records Ltd, the business was incorporated in November 2011 but was dissolved via compulsory strike off in July 2013, which usually takes place when directors fail to file in paperwork on time.

Next to fail was Silver Crescent Media Ltd, an advertising agency launched in April 2014 alongside Pareet Shah. Accounts show in 2015 cash reserves went from £20,330 to £509 in seven months.
