Anya Taylor-Joy to Star in Apple Series Adaptation of Marissa Stapley’s ‘Lucky,’ Reese Witherspoon to Produce

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Anya Taylor-Joy is set to star in and executive produce the limited series “Lucky” at Apple TV+, Variety has learned.

The series is based on the Marissa Stapley novel of the same name. The book was a New York Times bestseller and a selection for Reese Witherspoon‘s Reese’s Book Club.

The official logline states that Taylor-Joy “stars as a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.” Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are adapting the book for the screen and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Tropper executive produces under his overall deal with Apple. Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media.
