Andy Ruiz Jr has called on Anthony Joshua to settle their heavyweight rivalry once and for all by agreeing to lock horns with him for a third time.
Joshua was handed his first professional defeat last year by the Mexican, who pulled himself off the canvas at Madison Square Garden to knock him down four times and become the new heavyweight champion of the world.
But Ruiz’s shock reign as unified chief of the division didn’t last long, as six months later the Brit put on a boxing masterclass in their Saudi Arabia rematch to reclaim his titles.
Since that night, AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn has distanced himself from the idea of an immediate trilogy bout, with mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev instead up next.
