Add Anonymous Content to the list of entertainment companies hit by layoffs, as Deadline has confirmed that around 8% of staffers were let go on Friday.
Cuts at the company, heretofore home to around 170 people, were attributed by sources to efforts to remain competitive, during a time of reckoning for an already economically unstable industry now looking to come back from not just one, but two hugely impactful strikes.
Positions were cut across all divisions, including talent management, television, motion picture, literary, media rights, and branded entertainment, with employees being notified today.
A management and production company also now in the final stages of the search for a new chief executive, Anonymous Content is currently in theaters with Foe, the Amazon sci-fi thriller, starring Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan, which world premiered late last month at the New York Film Festival.
