Angela Bassett Returning For ‘Mission: Impossible 8’
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Angela Bassett is ready for another Mission, Deadline can exclusively reveal. In Mission: Impossible 8, Bassett reprises her role as CIA Director Erika Sloane from 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The plot of the new film, from Paramount Pictures and Skydance, remains under wraps. Most recently garnering multiple Oscar nominations and grossing over $567MM worldwide with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, the spy action franchise of course center on Tom Cruise’s Impossible Missions Force agent Ethan Hunt, who with his team, has embarked on assorted globe-trotting missions to avert global disaster.
In addition to Cruise, returning cast will include Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell and Frederick Schmidt.
Others making their Mission: Impossible debut in the eighth installment include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O’Brian, and Stephen Oyoung.
