This has led fans to speculate that Peter Barton, portrayed by Anthony Quinlan, might also be returning to the village for the festive season.
Peter was last seen departing from the Dales in early 2020 to start afresh elsewhere. His fellow villagers bid him farewell and wished him luck as he drove off, not to be seen again.
It is believed that Peter relocated to Liverpool to join his brother Ross, who had begun a new life with Rebecca White (Emily Head) and her son Seb in 2018.
