By Anthony D'Alessandro Editorial Director/Box Office Editor As the first big movie theater chain to pubically address the coronavirus situation in the U.S., AMC Theatres announced today that they’re reducing capacity in each of their auditoriums by at least 50% starting tomorrow Saturday, March 14 and continuing until April 30, 2020.
As the largest theater chain in the U.S., unfortunately that will spell a downturn for pics at the box office. The chain will do so by capping ticket sales for each showtime in each of its theatre’s auditoriums to an amount equal to 50% of the normal seating capacity.
