Alone and in the middle of nowhere, British teenager Jay Slater met his tragic end. After losing contact with his friend while in the mountainous landscape of Masca, on the morning of June 17, he disappeared without a trace.
It had followed a night of fun, laughs and partying with his friends in the south of Tenerife. The evening was spent dancing at the Papagayo Beach Club in Playa de las Americas, at the huge closing party for the NRG music festival.
Just hours later, the 19-year-old from Lancashire found himself stranded, lost and alone more than 30km away, in the Rural de Teno Park.
Surrounded by towering ravines and rocky cliffs, Jay then decided to attempt the 11-hour walk back to his hotel. But he never made it.
