Alex Lowry is poised to make his return to Rangers with the Light Blues pulling the plug on his loan at Hearts. The attacking midfielder is a bright prospect at Ibrox and was sent to Tynecastle in the summer transfer window for regular experience.
He has played 18 times for Steven Naismith's side with two goals and five assists, but according to the Herald, returns to Glasgow "after Hearts moved to end his current deal early."He was supposed to remain maroon until the end of the season but his loan has been cut prematurely.
Rangers will look to send Lowry elsewhere for the remainder of the season rather than integrate him into Philippe Clement's first-team plans at this stage.
Lowry has made 14 appearances at senior level for the Ibrox club and featured regularly for their Lowland League 'B' team prior to his loan.
