Alan Cumming has called for meat and dairy products to be banned at the COP26 climate change summit to be held in Glasgow later this year.
The Scots actor has written to COP26 president and Tory MP Alok Sharma demanding that only vegan food is served at the event.
In a letter, he claimed that the meat and dairy industry are one of the leading causes of the current climate crisis seen across the globe.
The 56-year-old went on to compare serving products sourced from animals to “serving beer at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.” He said: “Given that animal agriculture contributes to many of the serious environmental problems the planet is facing, I hope you’ll agree that serving meat while trying to fight climate change is like serving beer at.
