Al Rappa was a bassist with the pioneering rock and roll group Bill Haley & His Comets.Rappa began playing with the Comets in the mid-1950s, recording and touring with them off and on until 1969.
He is featured on their recordings including 1959’s “Strictly Instrumental.” Rappa became known for antics with his stand-up bass, including standing atop it.
