Accident leaves woman with two holes in her eye after nightmare holiday

A nightmare holiday left a woman with two holes in her right eye when she had a horror windsurfing accident in Greece. Nicky Shipp was enjoying the water sport when she fell into the water and hit her head.

She soon realised something was seriously wrong when she woke up one week later with brown floaters in her eyes. The worried 63-year-old returned to the UK and booked an appointment to see an optician.

It was soon discovered she had holes in her retina, the layer at the back of her eye, after several scans and hospital visits.

As reported in the Manchester Evening News, Nicky said: “The mast landed on my head with a bad bang.“A week later, I noticed star dust in my eyes.
