Devoted customers of Almost Famous were left 'heartbroken' and 'absolutely gutted' after the chain announced its sudden closure on Monday (January 27).

Almost Famous launched the 'dirty food' trend in the city back in 2012, by taking American fast food trends and creating a popular Northern Quarter spot that would go on to expand beyond Manchester.

First opening to queues of eager diners lining up at the doors, the restaurant brand went on to open venues in Liverpool and Leeds and became a roaring success. Owner Beau Myers confirmed the closure of its sites across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds was down to 'lingering debt'. As well as the Northern Quarter site closing, Almost Famous' site at Great Northern will close.
