Woodhead Pass remains closed to traffic after flooding on New Year's Day. Heavy rain and severe weather has left the road shut in both directions between Woolley Bridge and Flouch in Derbyshire.
The closure remains in place as of 7pm, with drivers urged to follow an alternative route along the M60, M62 and M1. There is currently 'no estimate' for when the road will reopen, according to National Highways.
A National Highways spokesperson said: "The A628 Woodhead Pass is closed in both directions between the A616 (Hollingworth, Woolley Bridge) and the A57 (Flouch) due to flooding.
National Highways contractors will be working alongside emergency services to clear the flood water and manage traffic. "Road users are advised to use the M60, M62 and M1 as an alternative route.
