A year-long Cheetham Hill gun war has erupted again with shootings and machete attack

there have been a series of attacks caused by the feud.The root cause of the violence is thought to be a dispute over drugs territory and several young men have been shot.It included an attack in January in which an 18-year-old suffered potentially life changing injuries after being shot in Spender Avenue.That incident came after five shootings and a street fight in which machetes were brandished.In the worst incident in November, about five shots were fired in a reckless mid afternoon drive-by shooting on the busy Cheetham Hill Road.The gunman, shooting from a Mercedes, hit two young men in the legs.A few days later a masked gunman walked into a newsagents on the same road and fired twice into the floor.Up to four shots were fired in May.
