Residents on a 'sleepy' Altrincham street have spoken of their sadness after a teenager died in a hit and run incident. The 18-year-old man was found in Booth Road with 'serious injuries' at around 5am on Saturday (August 12).
He later died at the scene. A forensics tent was put in place on the street while the roads around it - including part of the A56 at Dunham Road - were cordoned off for several hours.
Some residents of these roads said they were woken up by the sound of sirens in the early hours of the morning. Another resident who lives on the edge of the police perimeter heard a 'kerfuffle', but near the town centre, such 'noise' is not unusual.
Some passersby described the surrounding streets as 'sleepy', while one expressed her surprise at the presence of the police scene.
