Aptly titled, “John & Paul: A Love Story in Songs,” the newest Beatles book delves into the music industry’s most iconic songwriting duo, whose tumultuous relationship has long been defined by an intensity and complexity that inevitably seeped into their music.
In the 448-page biography, writer Ian Leslie attempts to shatter the endless myths that have followed the pair since the Beatles heydey in the ’60s through the group’s disbandment in 1970 to modern day.
Leslie drew on recently released footage and recordings for his research, offering an intimate and insightful new look at two of the greatest icons in music history.
