A free giant beach is coming to Heaton Park this summer

A giant beach is returning to Heaton Park this summer - and the best bit is it's FREE. Come to the Beach returns from July 20, bringing sand, deck chairs, buckets and spades and more to the popular park.

Billing itself as 'the largest sandpit in the north west', with 100 tonnes of play sand, it will stay open right through the summer until September 1. Read more: Sneak peek in store as iconic toy brand arrives at The Trafford Centre There'll be character and dinosaur appearances and children's entertainment, as well as a seaside fun park with traditional rides and attractions, which can be paid for with tokens.

Entry to the site and the beach is free and you can either buy the tokens for individual rides or get 25 tokens for £25 for the family to share.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays you'll be able to buy an unlimited wristband, giving you access to all the rides for a set session - either 12pm to 2.30pm, or 2pm to 5.30pm - for £12.99 per person.
