Manchester’s award-winning park with a ‘brilliant’ playground kids will love this summer

It can be tricky, but we’re here to help with lots of suggestions on things to do and places to visit. Of course, one thing which is free to do and a great way to spend a summer’s day, weather permitting, is a visit to a park.
One Manchester-based park in particular has a playground like no other - which visitors described as ‘really cool’. Mayfield Park is in fact Manchester’s newest park, it opened in September 2022 and was the city’s first park in 100 years.
Developed from a derelict area of land near Manchester Piccadilly, the park has won numerous awards, including a prestigious Green Flag Award, which was announced last week.
