50th anniversary vinyl reissue of David Bowie’s ‘Young Americans’ announced

David Bowie‘s ninth album ‘Young Americans’ has been announced. Find all the details below.The special edition of the record is due to arrive via Parlophone on March 7 – the same day the original collection was released back in 1975.

It’ll be available on a half-speed mastered LP and a picture disc LP with a poster, pressed from the same master.Bowie’s new pressing of ‘Young Americans’ was cut on a customised late Neumann VMS 80 lathe with fully recapped electronics from 192kHz restored masters of the original master tapes, with no additional processing on transfer.

The half-speed version was cut by John Webber at AIR Studios in London.Per a press release, the follow-up to 1974’s ‘Diamond Dogs’ saw Bowie “broaden his musical horizons once more, embracing what he called ‘Plastic Soul'”.
