Social Security Scotland have announced that one-off payments of £235.70 have started going out to around 29,000 disabled children and young people across the country.

The annual Child Winter Heating Payment is unique to Scotland and designed to help families of disabled young people under the age of 19 with higher fuel costs over the colder months.

People getting the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), or the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Adult Disability Payment, also qualify.
