A beloved mum-of-two has been diagnosed with terminal cancer after an operation to remove a supposedly "harmless" growth in her womb was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kelly Pendry has received the heartbreaking news that benign fibroids in her uterus have turned out to be cancerous, despite being scheduled for a hysterectomy to remove them in 2019.
Kelly, from Ewloe, Wales, stated: "Before the pandemic, everything was set for me to go ahead with the hysterectomy, I had even signed the consent forms. "Sadly because all routine operations were cancelled it never happened and I was put on different medication which they hoped would shrink the fibroids, but it didn't."
