The students will all be partaking in ‘Manchester’s innovative book giveaway’ which has been going on for three years and will receive a copy of "The Lion Above the Door" by author Onjali Q Rauf.

The novel by Rauf, which Orion published, follows the tale of Leo and his best friend Sangeeta, who frequently feel like outsiders at school and in their small community being the only ethnic minority.

The story will resonate with students going into high school as students will be in a new environment putting them in a truly vulnerable area.

Along with the book, students will receive a unique workbook as part of the shared learning project for students transitioning from primary school which is filled with enjoyable, useful activities and challenges relevant to the novel.
