X-Factor star opens up on heartache after 'year from hell'

Former X-Factor star Emma Chawner has opened up on her heartache and financial difficulties after losing both of her parents with a year.

Emma, 35, from Ramsbottom, first auditioned for music show in 2007, and then returned two years later to duet with her sister.

Her family went on to appear on a series of reality TV shows a six-part ITV series in 2009 called Lorraine Kelly's Big Fat Challenge, where the presenter tried to help them lose weight.

They also appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show and Nightmare Neighbours. Emma was close to both her parents, mum Audrey and dad Philip.
