The first photos of Wythenshawe Park as it prepares for a huge gig this weekend have been unveiled. Around 25,000 fans are expected to flock to see former Oasis star Noel Gallagher at the historic Greater Manchester parkland on Saturday (August 26).
The concert will be the biggest ever UK outdoor headline gig for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and will feature support from Primal Scream, Future Islands, Billy Nomates and Picture Parlour. Join our food, drink, lifestyle and nightlife WhatsApp group 'Manc Life' here Doors for the show will open at 2pm, with TfGM already issuing travel warnings advising fans to plan their routes accordingly as key routes are set to be heavily congested.
The Manchester Airport Metrolink line, which includes a stop at Wythenshawe Park, is expected to be busy throughout the day.
The nearest tram stops are at Wythenshawe Park, Moor Road and Baguley with two of the stations closing at 9pm. There will also be a shuttle bus operating two routes before the gig - either between Sale and the venue, or Manchester city centre and Wythenshawe Park.
