Wynne Evans has hit headlines in recent days after he was dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing Live for making an offensive sexual comment towards his co-stars.The GoCompare star, 53, has come under fire after he made the sexual remark during a press event for the tour and has since apologised for his actions.

The singer made a vile comment towards tour host Janette Manrara when she walked over to the group to pose for a photo. He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used the hugely demeaning term "spit roast" which referenced to a lewd sexual act.This is not the first time Evans has faced backlash for his actions on the show, he was also slammed as he appeared to inappropriately touch his professional dance partner Katya Jones live on TV.

Amid backlash, the pair claimed it was an "inside joke" and Katya defended Evans, writes The Mirror. On Tuesday evening Evans confirmed that he would not be appearing again on the tour and agreed with the BBC to "take some time out" from his radio show "to prioritise my wellbeing".

In a statement, he said: "I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing."I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.
