The construction of Jubilee Heights – a care home in Bury town centre – has started. The 1.6 acre site on Irwell Street, to the side of Jubilee Way, was previously the Bury police headquarters.
The building was vacated in 2017 and demolished in 2018 and the area has remained vacant since. Due for completion by January 2026, the new home will provide support to adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities.
Exemplar Health Care, said the home would have 40 en-suite bedrooms split across four units. It the home will follow Exemplar’s small group living model, which provides a ‘more homely, supportive, and responsive care environment’.
It will have communal dining and living spaces, sensory bathrooms, a salon, activities hub and a dedicated therapy room. Its staffing team will include nurses, health care assistants and the support of a regional physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
