Woman yells ‘I love you’ as drug dealer sent down to cells day after Valentine's Day

A drug dealer facing jail was given a romantic goodbye the day after Valentine’s Day after a tearful woman shouted “I love you” as he was led from the dock.

Keiren McMahon, who used Encrochat, a social media platform used by organised criminals, had been counting and storing huge amounts of cash, on occasion up to £280,000 as part of a huge drug gang.

The 24-year-old used the handle ‘Limemace’ to have conversations with another member of the gang about them importing their own cocaine and heroin to sell but the other man had trouble raising money for his share.

Police working on the investigation recovered more than 100 pages of chat logs before arresting McMahon. Many of the messages were from someone using the handle Centralhuman, who was higher up the chain and was directing McMahon.In one conversation he asked the defendant how much he was currently counting and he told him £250,000.Centralhuman replied: “Sweet man, put away safe.”McMahon, of Titchfield Street, Kirkdale was arrested, having avoided police, when he flew into Manchester Airport from Amsterdam but made no comment when interviewed.Judge David Swinnerton rejected claims he had been naive and said: “I think you were foolish.
