A young man died the day after his prison release from the toxic effects of cocaine, an inquest has heard. Brandon Boothroyd was found dead in the corridor of a north Manchester hostel in August 2021.
His grieving family say he had been 'looking forward to his future', Manchester Evening News reports. The 23-year-old, from Middleton, had been transported to the probation service-approved premises after finishing his sentence at HMP Hindley in Wigan.An inquest into his death, held at Manchester Coroners' Court, heard he passed away due to the toxic effects of the Class A drug.
In a heartfelt tribute, his dad Anthony Boothroyd said that while he had faced many troubles, Brandon was a loving son whose death had left his whole family 'broken'. "He was a great lad.
He had a heart of gold," he said."He idolised his mum and his nana was his world."He was cheeky, but loveable. He could drive you insane sometimes but that was him."There was no one like him.
