Kataryna Stuck, 21, accepted the payments as part of a ‘sophisticated’ internet scam which saw pensioners duped. The victim, an 81-year-old former solicitor, was told his email and internet had been hacked and was told to send ‘test payments’ over to BT, Manchester Crown Court heard.

He was then told the bank would reimburse him. The fraudsters stole two payments totalling over £12,000 which was dispensed in a number of chip-and-pin transactions.
