Pictures taken in the aftermath show a huge emergency services response, with the fire service and paramedics at the scene. Fire crews had to rescue a woman from one of the vehicles involved before she was taken to hospital.
Five vehicles were involved in the crash, with the road blocked off as the scene was made safe. Fire engines from Stockport, Offerton and Marple quickly attended the scene. “Firefighters extricated a woman from one of the vehicles.
