manchestereveningnews.co.ukA woman who put her tiredness down to being busy had the 'battle of her life' in intensive care. Tara Joanna Hamer had been feeling unwell for some time, suffering with mouth ulcers, sleeping a lot and finding unexplained bruises all over her body, WalesOnline reports.
But she didn't think it was serious, and thought she was run down due to her busy life of going to the gym, working in the NHS and competing in beauty pageants.
On November 22 last year, Tara, from Hengoed, Caerphilly, collapsed and was rushed to the ICU department at the University Hospital of Wales.
