Woman fights off man in 'terrifying' daylight sex attack in woodland

Police patrols have been stepped up after a 'terrifying' attempted sexual assault on a woman in woodland in Tameside. The woman was walking alone through Sunny Bank Vale near Greenside Lane in Droylsden before the incident at around 3pm yesterday (Sunday).

She was attacked by a man but was able to fight back and escape, officers said. The suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been made yet. He made off on foot towards the top end of the vale, heading away from the school. The suspect is described as a white male, who is approximately 5ft 10in tall and aged in his 20s.
