A woman has been charged with stabbing a man in the legs and back on Boxing Day.Clio Groom, 20, of New Chester Road in Rock Ferry, is due to appear in Liverpool Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, December 28, to face a single charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against Sam Searson at a house in Wirral.
It is understood the pair are in a relationship. Local police confirmed they were contacted at 1.40pm on December 26, with reports a man in his 30s had been assaulted, reports the Liverpool Echo. The victim suffered puncture wounds to both legs and a slash injury to the shoulder, and is now being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He was also the subject of a beating last year, on December 23, 2022, by two men linked to the Beechwood estate organised crime group - Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy - which was recorded on a Ring doorbell camera. That incident was referred to in court during the trial of Connor Chapman, 23, for the murder of Elle Edwards, as a "pre-cursor event", which may have contributed to Chapman shooting at Salkeld and Duffy outside the Lighthouse Pub, Wallasey Village, on Christmas Eve last year.Elle was sitting on a raised flower bed chatting with Salkeld outside the pub's front entrance when Chapman fired 12 shots from a Skorpion sub-machine gun.Elle was struck twice in the head while Salkeld and Duffy were also seriously wounded.Chapman was convicted of murder by a jury at Liverpool Crown Court in July of this year and caged for life with a minimum term of 48 years in prison.Salkeld, 28, and Duffy, 22, were also given jail time for the attack on Searson in February this year.
