Scotland have the worst form of any country that has qualified for Euro 2024. Tuesday’s shock 1-0 Hampden loss to Northern Ireland extended Steve Clarke’s side’s winless streak to seven games - a run of five defeats and two draws.
With heavy losses to the Netherlands, France and England during that sequence, Scotland have shipped 19 goals and scored just seven. And their record over a six-game form guide against the other 23 qualifying nations for this summer’s tournament in Germany also makes for dismal reading.
None of the other qualifiers have failed to register a victory in their last six, with only Albania having a comparable record.
They haven’t won in four, with this month's friendly defeats to Sweden and Chile coming on the back of draws with the Faroe Islands and Moldova. But prior to that, Albania booked only their second-ever appearance at the Euros with impressive 2-0 and 3-0 wins over Bulgaria and Czechia.
