Fans of the 1939 classic film Wizard of Oz can rejoice.A reimagined version of the beloved drama fantasy which starred Judy Garland and Margaret Hamilton will be worked on by writer/director Kenya Barris, according to Deadline.The pitch was picked up by Warner Brothers it was announced on Monday.

Witchy good time: The synopsis on the original film is: When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz Out and about in California: Barris is seen 2019 in Los Angeles.

Barris is an American film and television writer, producer, director, and actor best known for creating the ABC hit series Black-ish Creative control: With a trackrecord of success, fans are curious how he will re-imagine the Wizard of Oz In 2020, Barris made his acting debut in #BlackAF, a series he developed for Netflix, co-starring Rashida Jones, and Iman Benson.
