A witness appeal has been issued after two people were killed after they were hit by a driver in a speeding BMW in south Manchester.

The incident, which at the time resulted in the death of a 71-year-old woman and left another man, then aged 64, hospitalised in a critical condition, is still being investigated.

Since then, it was confirmed that the man had later also died in hospital on March 4. Officers from Greater Manchester Police had been attempting to stop a speeding BMW using emergency equipment shortly after midnight on Sunday (February 20) along Stockport Road in Didsbury.

The driver continued down the road before becoming involved in a collision with two pedestrians at the junction with Kingsway (A34).
