A Wishaw woman is aiming to raise thousands of pounds to get a new wheelchair for her sister who has lost both legs.Angela Hardy, 56, wants to give younger sister Elizabeth Wilson, 49, her independence back following the loss of both limbs within an 18-month period.The new chair costs approximately £12,000 but Angela is determined to do all she can for Elizabeth.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

She lost her first leg in 2021 but she remained incredibly positive.“She was getting her prosthetic leg fitted and she was determined to carry on with her life.“But last year she lost her second leg and that put her into a real depression.“Her husband James has been doing a brilliant job and there is a stairlift in her house and a ramp but she is still unable to do some basic things and a new chair would help her do that.”Angela has already set up a GoFundMe page to help with fundraising for Elizabeth’s new state-of-the-art chair.Organisations and groups within Wishaw have also donated to the campaign.“The chair itself would tilt and would raise her up by 20cm,” said Angela.“This would allow Elizabeth to complete tasks in her home such was washing dishes or doing some cleaning.“We call her Mrs Hinch because she’s so house proud.
