MSP Clare Adamson is urging young carers in Motherwell and Wishaw to check if they are eligible for financial support from the Scottish Government.
Ms Adamson has welcomed the latest figures which show a record number of young carers have received support from the Scottish Government.Since the Young Carer Grant was launched in 2019, over 12,000 payments totalling £4 million have been made, and since March 2023 almost £1.4m has been paid - almost 60 per cent more than the year before.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Ms Adamson, MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw, said: “Young carers play a crucial community role, but many still don’t know they are eligible for financial help.
