A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Desouza began his career after being mentored and coached by the late actor Robert F. Chew (The Wire).
He went on to study at the University of Maryland, College Park, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science before becoming a software engineer.
However, he knew he loved acting and was determined to follow his passion. After a few years of working in the field, Desouza quit his day job to give him the flexibility to pursue a career in acting.
