Willy Hutchinson has told Craig Richards just how he intends to knock him out in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The Carstairs boxer takes on former British champion and world title challenger Richards as part of the highly-anticipated 5v5 show in the Middle East, in which big-time promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren pit five of the best fighters from their stable against each other.
Since suffering his only professional defeat in a British and Commonwealth title tilt to Lennox Clarke back in 2021, Hutchinson, who fights out of Warren's Queensberry Promotions, has won each of his last four fights inside seven rounds after moving up to the 175-pound division from super-middleweight.The more battle-hardened Richard has accumulated a record of 18 wins from his 22 fights, losing three and drawing one.
One of those defeats came in a bout with superstar Dimitry Bivol for the WBA title, with Richards giving a good account of himself before losing on a wide points decision.Despite admitting that Saturday's contest in Riyadh is a step-up, former 2016 Youth World Championship gold medallist Hutchinson reckons he has the power in his fists to nail Richards to the canvas for the first time in his career.
Speaking to Matchroom Boxing in a fiery pre-fight face-off with his opponent, he said: "I think I'll knock him out in a couple of rounds.
